The price point on this fan is its most nice feature.
But two things are worth knowing about this fan:
1 The tilt feature simply does not work. The fan was bought at a local “big box” three days ago. From the outset, it was not possible to lock the fan’s angle into position, which means that the air flow can not be directed. The fan apparently directs itself, the only certainty being that if it stays in position long enough for you to take your hands from it, it will rock back.
2 though it has three speeds many other fans offered at this price have only two the top speed isn’t at all powerful. One wonders if Honeysacrificed strength to get relative quietness. Myself, I will tolerate a low roar to get a little wind power.
The low power could most likely be more tolerable to me if it were at least possible to control the angle. But it is not. If this had been bought through Amazon, with Amazon’s simple return policy I surely could returned it. But it is not worth the annoyance of dealing with the “big box” so it will most probably get passed along to the thrift store.

Over the past not many years, I have bought four of these fans. Criticisms about its restricted swiveling capability are warranted, but it does a respectable job of circulating air. One of the four fans I received was dead on arrival would not turn on, no juice, but was fast to replace it at no charge. If I have to cool a small area at some point, I could not hesitate to buy another.

I bought this fan knowing that other reviewers had a problem with the pivoting fan head holding the selected position. I hoped that this condition had either been fixed, as it’s a Honeywell, or it wasn’t as bad as indicated by other reviewers. It hasn’t been fixed and it’s every bit as bad as indicated by others. Also, as I had the fan on a GFI outlet, I found that, when opeating the ON/OFF fan speed switch from one position to another, it opened the GFI outlet shutting off the fan. The fan was returned to Amazon.
